Laura Letinsky is is a Canadain contemporary photograph who is best known for her incredible still life images. Her still life photographs all suggest a human presence yet never actually contain a human body or body part, her photographs are of the moments after a dinner party or social gathering. I really like the pure and raw style pictures Laura Letinsky takes, they are so clean and symmetric, especially Picture 3 at the bottom. This relates to my project because it suggests human presence and that time has passed, but I think it also resembles that the people who were there are still out in this world enjoying life.

Contact Sheet
After setting up the table, lighting, background and fruit I then took multiple photographs to get it as similar to the original as possible. Obviously some of the photographs in the contact sheet didn't have the black plain background so they were not picked. Then it was mostly down to the angle and exposure of the photograph, some of the shots were too low and some were way to bright that you could hardy see the lemons at all. Then the remainder were renamed and then edited. Once I'd edited all the five pictures to look as similar to the original as possible to finally choose the picture that looked most like the original. The main factors I then consider was whether the fruit was in focus, the angle and spacing between the different fruit and the space from the edge of the picture and the fruit, particularly the lemon, I wanted there to be a lot of space between because there is in the original. I circled two because they were the two I couldn't decide which one was the closest, then I chose 'close5'.
The main factor about choosing which photograph was closest was the positioning of all the lines and the glass bottle. Once I got the right setting on my camera I didn't need to change them at any point so I didn't need to consider the lighting, colour or sharpness at all. Some were just a bit to low whilst others were a bit too high, then I can across the one which is my final photograph, this one ticked all the boxes. I did have a few other ones which were similar but the lines didn't quite match the original like this one did. So I chose 'close5'.
