What We Leave Behind Is What We Will Become

Introduction

I decided to go with the title 'Evidence' because I felt that this topic is incredibly relevant to todays problems and issues (Globe Warming and Pollution). I also thought that in our modern society that we forget, everyday, we are moving forward and that we are always leaving something behind; whether that my be physically or mentally and what we leave behind is all our wonderful achievements as well as our faults. So after deciding on this theme, I released I needed some photographers to copy and develop to express this idea. Andy Hughes is a perfect photography because from he concept of taking pictures of rubbish on the beach. I can use this to symbolise the faults we leave behind in our lives. Then I came across Laura Letinsky who photographs food in a way which represents a moment after a party. Karen Halverson captures rubbish in our beautiful world and Gemma Schiebe and Sam Taylor-Wood who photograph decay to symbolise that we as human beings will eventually die but still effect our world in some way or another. Lastly I have chosen a discovery not a photographer that was found in Laetoli, the discovery was believed to be the earliest direct evidence of human-like bipedal biomechanics, this is a very powerful discovery which I have decided to use to syobolise that human existance is forever moving on and that everyday we leave behind footsteps...
